Has your Anti-Virus trial expired? Norton/Symantec is well known amongst professionals as the antivirus that slows your PC/laptop the most, and McAfee I have had a fair amount of trouble with, including McAfee 2005 AIO (All-in-One) trying to delete explorer.exe (the main executable for Windows itself - loads taskbar and desktop icons)! We are always trying new AntiViruses on our own systems, and this is what we are currently advising:-

Anti-Spyware got you confused? Popups, unwanted pornsite diallers, computer generally running slow? We recommend:-

• Spybot Search&Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd) - Download Here.
• Windows Defender (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx) - Download direct from Microsoft.
